A plea bargain is a binding agreement between the prosecutor and the defendant that resolves one or more criminal charges without the time, expense, and uncertainty of a jury trial.
In a written plea agreement, the defendant agrees to plead guilty—often in exchange for a reduced charge, the dismissal of certain counts, or a minimized sentence.
At Right Law Group, our approach to plea negotiations is rooted in a thorough analysis of the facts and circumstances unique to your case. First, we obtain and review all of the state’s evidence. Then, we schedule a strategy session with you to determine the best course of action.
During that session, we’ll go over the evidence, explore any potential defenses, and consider all relevant mitigating factors. It’s essential that we help the prosecutor see you as a person—not just another criminal defendant.
If you agree, we’ll enter into negotiations with the prosecutor from a position of strength and preparation.
Importantly, the decision to accept or reject a plea offer is entirely yours. We will never pressure you to accept a deal. What we provide is a complete, unbiased analysis of your case and legal options. The advice is ours—but the decision is yours.
You always have the right to plead not guilty and take your case to trial before a jury.
